Workplace Hazard Awareness
Service Description
The Workplace Hazard Awareness course provides workers and supervisors with the knowledge and practical skills needed to recognize, assess, and control workplace hazards before they result in injuries or incidents. Designed to align with WorkSafeBC requirements and occupational health and safety best practices, this course helps participants understand the importance of hazard identification, risk assessment, and the hierarchy of controls in creating a safe and compliant workplace. Throughout the course, participants will learn how to identify common physical, chemical, biological, ergonomic, and psychosocial hazards found in a variety of workplaces. They will also explore employer and worker responsibilities under WorkSafeBC legislation, how to report hazards and unsafe conditions, and the importance of participating in workplace inspections and safety programs. By the end of the training, participants will have the confidence to recognize potential risks, contribute to a positive safety culture, and help prevent workplace injuries and illnesses."
