Canadian Red Cross Babysitting Course

The Canadian Red Cross Babysitting Course is designed with today’s youth in mind. Participants will learn essential basic first aid for common childhood injuries and emergencies, including:
Choking
Sprains and Strains
Bleeding
Poisoning
Burns
Fire Emergencies
But babysitting is more than just first aid. This course also focuses on preparing youth for their first job experience by teaching:
Key child care and safety skills for children of all ages
Strategies for managing tantrums, crying, and other common behaviours
How to stay safe and respond when feeling uncomfortable
Professional conduct and communication with families
Engaging activities and games to make babysitting fun
The rights and responsibilities of both the babysitter and the family
By the end of the course, participants will feel more confident, capable, and ready to take on babysitting jobs with knowledge and professionalism.
